The Auc Wolverines are not receiving support from university this year because the sports department can't start any team at this time of year due to financial reasons. In addition, I believe that Omnya el Saeed was chosen the best player in the tournament by the organizers and other teams, not by her team mates. Please check your sources to maintain your credibility.

Fantastic! The next intifada could start here, NOW. I seriously applaud the initiative of these students and I urge the entire student body to stand in solidarity with direct actions of this kind. The administration's response is hysterical. These could be the seeds of a real war in the spirit of the UC student movement in the United States. We cannot stop here. Enough talk. It's time to take back our money's worth. This is OUR campus. Complaints and requests fall on the deaf ears of a belligerent institution fashioned after Mubarak's neoliberal lapdogs. A liberal arts education in the Middle East should not come at the price of membership in a virtual military base, headed by nothing less than imperialist mouthpieces whose pockets keep bulging. TAKE BACK THE CAMPUS, NOW!

Comment on Religious clubs strengthen AUC’s sense of community by Majed Jarrar

Very disappointing article. The theme is very sectarian, showing AUC as a religiously-divided campus. No mention to the majority non-religious AUCians and no deep insight into the connections and communications among these claimed groups.

More seriously, the article doesn't even bring the more important fact that calling for religious practice is 'prohibited' on campus according to the university's secular constitution. Basic services like electricity and air conditioning, even fans, are denied since 2008 to all prayer areas. Students with disabilities do not have the privilege to pray since all prayer areas are located on rooftops only, permission to open prayer spaces on ground floor for students with disabilities were denied over and over because there was 'not enough room' in the 250 acre-sized campus.

Caravan has been on a decline in its quality in the past 4 years... so much effort is needed to go up again and become a professional, reliable and credible newspaper.
